iCor, the Germans Trias Heart Institute
Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol (HUGTP) is one of the large university hospitals in the area of Barcelona (almost 650 beds). It provides direct healthcare to 250.000 citizens, and is referral center for high-tech care for 820.000 citizens in the surrounding areas. It also has an associated centre devoted to research, the Health Sciences Research Institute Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP).
We created the iCor (Institut del Cor-Institute of the Heart) to pluck up resources and talent to boost cardiovascular investigation and clinical options.
The team involves cardiologists, surgeons, interns, nurses, administrative assistants and full-time researchers from a multidisciplinary origin.
