The Heart Institute of the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (iCor) has been the first hospital in Spain to include a patient in the international EASY-AS study (Asymptomatic Aortic Estenosis).

The main objective of this clinical trial is to establish an early aortic valve replacement strategy in asymptomatic patients with severe aortic stenosis that reduces cardiovascular mortality or hospitalization for heart failure and improves other important outcomes.

iCor Germans Trias is actively participating in the EASY-AS study this June with the inclusion of the first patient from a Spanish hospital. This study of early detection of severe aortic stenosis with valve replacement is being developed in a total of 8 countries.
