Cardiology ward
Cardiovascular patients are admitted to the 11th floor of the Hospital. They are attended by a team formed by three pysicians, cardiology interns and other especialists, as well as nurses and nursing assistants. The annual number of admissions is about 2,100 mainly due to heart attack, angina, heart failure and heart rhythm disorders.
About 1500 Cardiology and 500 Cardiac Surgery patients are treated annually at the Heart Area hospitalization plant. The occupancy rate is more than 85%. Some of the cardiology patients also undergo complex procedures such as hemodynamics (angioplasty, percutaneous valve intervention (TAVI), other structural interventions such as leaflet stich-up, mitraclip implantation, CIA and FOP closure devices ..., and diagnoses such as invasive catheterization and endomyocardial biopsy, and electrophysiology procedures(ablation of atrial fibrillation and other supraventricular tachyarrhythmias, endocardial and epicardial ablation of ventricular tachycardia, implantation of devices ...)
