The cardiac smart patch.

Our group has developed a cardiac patch consisting in decellularized pericardium seeded with adipose tissue-derived progenitor cells in combination with hydrogel. This cardiac patch has been implanted in a pig model of MI and the myocardial regeneration of the infarct scar has been monitored online for the first time with an implantable electrical impedance spectrum monitoring system.
